Proposals Requested for Department of Aging Creative Engagement Innovation Mini-Grants
TOWSON – The Baltimore County Department of Aging today announced that it will award up to 10 $5,000 mini-grants for Creative Engagement Innovation proposals as part of its Dementia Friendly initiative. Grants will be awarded to organizations that develop or create programs or services for family caregivers/care partners of older individuals living with memory or cognitive challenges.
Meaningful activities for those with dementia implement the person's strengths, capability and interests, and improve their psychological and emotional well-being. Examples of programming could be, but are not limited to:
- Memory cafes
- Nature or music programs
- Arts and crafts
- Improv sessions
A pre-grant conference will be held on October 13, 2023 at 1 PM, via WebEx, to review proposal requirements. Interested groups or organizations should register to get the link for the virtual pre-grant conference by calling 410-887-4724 or emailing dhock@baltimorecountymd.gov.

Proposals must be received via email at knjones@baltimorecountymd.gov or US Mail at 611 Central Ave., Room 221, Towson, MD 21204, by 3 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023.
Dementia Friendly Baltimore County – part of the Dementia Friendly America network – was developed to ensure communities in Baltimore County are equipped to support people living with dementia and their caregivers. Dementia friendly communities foster the ability of people living with dementia to remain in community and engage and thrive in day to day living.
