Keys to Happiness
Aging adults struggle with emotions such as depression, anxiety and sadness daily. Research show that these emotions can trigger the stress response in the body which can lead to physical symptoms such as high blood pressure, nausea, muscle tension and headaches.
Participants learn four keys to happiness which can counteract these negative interactions. The ability to stay socially, physically, mentally and purposefully engaged are all critical components to happiness. The body produces natural happiness chemicals in the form of hormones and neurotransmitters. We discuss specific strategies senior adults can do every day to trigger the release of these happiness chemicals to improve their mood and boost their happiness levels.
