Baltimore County to Host Public Hearing Promoting Upcoming Grant Opportunities for Housing and Community Development Projects
The Baltimore County Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) today announced that the County will host a virtual public hearing for non-profit organizations, community stakeholders, and the public to learn more about upcoming grant opportunities to support housing and community development programs that meet the needs of low income residents across Baltimore County.
The virtual meeting will be held via WebEx on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
Fiscal Year 2023 funding is available through federal, state and local funding sources, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the Emergency Solutions Grant, as well as State of Maryland and County General Funds.
Grants from $15,000 to $200,000 are available to nonprofit and government organizations serving County residents in three areas:
- Homeless Services Projects—Projects preventing homelessness or assisting those currently homeless
- Public Services Projects—Projects that address needs of low-income residents in the areas of employment, child care, health, education, and substance abuse
- Capital Projects—Projects that serve people with disabilities or meet general community development needs
The County is encouraging applications from both new organizations as well as those who have previously received grant funds.
Immediately following the public hearing, DHCD will hold a pre-bid conference, where the County will provide additional instructions for responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
