BCDA Invites All to Discover the Power of Age at Tomorrow’s Annual Expo
The Baltimore County Department of Aging is pleased to bring the Power of Age Expo (Expo) back in person on Thursday, October 27 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Timonium Fairgrounds. Celebrating its 35th anniversary and featuring a “Cultivating a Brighter Tomorrow” theme, Expo is the largest regional event of its type in the Mid-Atlantic area and promises to offer older adults, baby boomers, caregivers, families, those over 18 with disabilities and industry professionals a one-stop-shop of resources and entertainment.
Expo will offer access to approximately 200 sponsors and exhibitors including County agencies, special feature areas, a beauty corner, live entertainment, speed dating, flu/pneumonia and COVID vaccines, free health screenings, an art and writing contest, a silent auction, Dementia-Friendly Baltimore County feature area, Medicare Part D assistance and more. Further, the Federal Communications Commission will be on hand to offer Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) application assistance. ACP is a new federal benefit that offers $30 monthly toward Wi-Fi bills for eligible people of all ages. Those who receive the following assistance automatically qualify: SNAP, Medicaid, Housing Assistance, SSI, Free and Reduced Lunch, etc.

Admission is two-canned goods of non-perishable food or a $2.00 donation. All proceeds of the event support the Seniors in Need Program, which provides emergency assistance to Baltimore County residents 60 years of age and older and meet financial eligibility criteria. Services from the program include eviction prevention/assistance, utility turn-off, medications and other critical services.
