Chief Rund Promotes First African American to the Rank of Assistant Fire Chief
Fire Chief Joanne Rund has announced the promotion of Deputy Chief Marcus Johnson to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief, effective January 13, 2024.
Assistant Chief Johnson joined the department in 2003 and has held the ranks of Emergency Medical Technician, Firefighter, Fire Specialist, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, Fire Director, and Deputy Fire Chief. His experience, leadership, and dedication have earned him this remarkable achievement.
