Two Injured in Essex Dwelling Fire

An early morning two-alarm fire in Essex sent a civilian and firefighter to area hospitals with minor injuries. Fire crews responded to the unit block of Warren Road, 21221, at 2:01 a.m. for a report of a dwelling fire. They found fire visible from the rear of the home on multiple levels.
The fire spread to two additional homes and displaced seventeen residents and eight animals. During search efforts, crews unfortunately located two deceased cats and dogs. Due to the extreme temperatures, fire crews temporarily sheltered affected residents at Essex Elementary School. At the same time, the Red Cross responded to assist.
Baltimore County Police investigators are determining the cause of the fire.
