WOMAN, 80, DIES IN EDGEMERE HOUSE FIRE

An 80-year-old woman died yesterday in a one-alarm Edgemere house fire. 

The victim is Georgia Norris, of 8910 Millers Island Boulevard, Edgemere.

Fire crews responded to 8910 Millers Island Boulevard at 6:07 p.m. for a report of a dwelling fire with rescue. Units arrived six minutes later and found fire coming from the rear of home. Baltimore County Police Officers assisted two residents from the rear of the residence before the arrival of fire department units. Firefighters entered the house to search for a third resident who was reported missing and found her deceased in a bedroom. 

The home did not have working smoke detectors. The cause of the fire is undetermined, but improperly discarded smoking materials may have been involved. This is the second fire fatality in 2025.
