ADMINISTRATIVE CARE COORDINATION UNIT
The ACCU program helps Medical Assistance members and beneficiaries:
- Access necessary and appropriate medical care
- Navigate the HealthChoice system, Maryland's Medicaid managed care program
- Connect to services, including specialty care
- Resolve billing issues
- Explain appeal and grievance rights
Target populations include children, pregnant and postpartum women, individuals with disabilities (physical, mental or developmental) and homeless individuals.
PARTNERS FOR HEALTH IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (PARTNERSH.I.P.)
There is no cost for enrollment, case management or coordination in PARTNERSH.I.P., which provides linkage to affordable health care coverage or entitlement programs. Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a resident of Baltimore County
- Be between the ages of 19 to 64
- Income must be below 300 percent federal poverty level
STATE HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAMS
The following programs cover in-patient hospital care, medical doctor visits, mental health services, lab tests, dental and vision care (for children and pregnant woman), medications and immunizations.
- Maryland Children's Health Program (MCHP)—Provides free health care to eligible pregnant women and children with low to average incomes.
- Maryland Children's Health Premium Program—Provides health care to middle-income families with no health insurance, with a low monthly premium to cover all eligible children.
- Medicaid—Provide comprehensive health care to parents, caretakers and nondisabled single adults. Eligibility depends on family size and income.
- Qualified Health Plans—Provide essential health benefits. Local health department MCHP offices can assist with eligibility determination for qualified health plans and referrals for enrollment assistance.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
Applicants must submit documentation verifying citizenship and identity:
- Residents born in the United States—We may be able to verify your citizenship and identity you through available data systems.
- Lawful permanent residents—Provide a copy of their alien registration card.
- Naturalized citizens—Provide a copy of your Certificate of Naturalization.
Self-employed persons must provide a complete copy of their most recently filed federal income tax returns to verify income.
RECEIVING YOUR MEDICAL ASSISTANCE CARD
It takes 10 business days for the MCHP office to process eligibility. If additional information is needed, more time may be required. You should receive your red-white card about seven to 10 business days after you receive your approval letter. Contact your case manager if you do not.
