Investigation Follows Owings Mills Incident

At approximately 11 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, officers assigned to the Baltimore County Police Department Franklin Precinct responded to a call for service for a suspicious person in the area of Rosewood Lane and Reisterstown Road, 21117. As officers arrived, they located an adult male who appeared to be under the influence and causing a disturbance. Family members were attempting to de-escalate the individual. Officers took the male into custody with the assistance of those family members. Due to the subject’s condition, officers attempted to render aid and requested medics. The subject was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Since the subject was in police custody at the time of his death, the Independent Investigations Division of the Office of the Attorney General is handling this investigation.
