About
The new Rosedale Recreation Activity Center (RAC), in addition to traditional programming, will feature an Esports theme and will offer a dedicated gaming room, highlight the history of electronic gaming and promote technological advances associated with the field. Esports as recreation serves as a pathway to potential career possibilities and recreational pursuits.
The Rosedale RAC is estimated to be completed in September 2024.
Updates
The new Rosedale RAC will open alongside McCormick Elementary School and will provide a dedicated Esports programming, as well as a focus on recreational, social and wellness opportunities for residents of all ages. The approximately 15,000-square-foot Rosedale RAC will offer a full-sized gymnasium, a dedicated Esports gaming room, four multi-use activity rooms and a new exterior multipurpose court. The facility is supported by over $7 million in state and County funds.

Highlights
The new Rosedale RAC will join the County's existing RACs and the new Middle River RAC that is also currently under construction.
Under the RAC model, Baltimore County’s centers—in addition to athletic and after-school programming—provide expansive recreational, art, health, and wellness offerings, including for residents of all ages and younger children who were traditionally are limited from PAL programming.
Timeline
- The groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 21, 2022.
- A public input meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
