INTERNET DISCOUNTS
BCDA provides assistance to find low-cost internet service through the Affordable Connectivity Program, which offers long-term financial assistance to qualified households of up to $30 a month toward Internet service. BCDA is hosting four ACP sign-up events to get you connected to free home internet and choose the speed that’s right for you. Make an appointment to receive assistance with ACP internet benefits at one of our events.
TECH SUPPORT
In partnership with the University of Maryland Extension, BCDA offers free, one-on-one tech support sessions for your personal devices, such as smartphones, tablets, computers and applications like Zoom, Facebook and more.

CYBERSENIORS TECHNOLOGY MENTORS
BCDA is partnering with the University of Maryland Extension to offer CyberSeniors classes. CyberSeniors Technology Mentors are young people who have been trained to teach technology to older adults, including the following tips for using your smartphone, tablet or computer:
- Online Games: Entertain yourself with games safety
- Online Photography: Capture and share the best photos
- Genealogy: Discover your family’s history online
- Banking Online: Save time by banking and paying online
- Buy and Sell Online: Buy, swap and sell items on the internet

SENIOR PLANET WORKSHOPS
BCDA is partnering with Senior Planet from AARP to help older adults over the age of 60 use technology to learn new skills, save money, get in shape and make new friends.
- Smartphone: Discover how a smartphone can help you access the internet when you need it!
- Smartphone Photography: Capture incredible photos on your smartphone.
- Internet of Things: Learn how to safely find thermostats to fitness trackers on the rapidly growing internet.
- Online Health Resources: Find two reputable online resources for researching and evaluating health-related information.
- Video Chat: Connect with family and friends by using popular no- or low-cost video chat apps.
- Video Chat with Friends Workshop: Master how to join a Zoom meeting and navigate the platform to connect with family, friends and coworkers.
- Online Shopping: Discover ways to save money and time by shopping online!
- Protecting Your Personal Information Online: Unearth tips for staying safe online, like safe browsing and how to recognize online scams.
- Computer Essentials—A five-week course that teaches attendees the foundations of using a personal computer to navigate the internet and send and receive email.
- iPad Essentials—A five-week course that teaches attendees the foundations of using an iPad to navigate the internet and send and receive email. iPads will be provided for use in class.
