Petro Tunk

Petro Tunk is back at the shelter through no fault of his own, and we’re hoping the second time’s the charm for this sweet, silly boy. He came to us with a swollen leg injury, but after some much-needed R&R in a loving foster home, he’s healed up beautifully and is ready for his fresh start!
From day one, Petro has been an affectionate shadow, always by your side and eager to love. He’s been living with two foster dog siblings—one shy, one bold—and he fits right in with both. He’s got a playful streak, loving his zoomies, wrestling sessions, and fetch time, but also knows how to chill out and enjoy a good lounge session.
Petro loves chew toys and bones and is learning to politely share with his doggy pals. He’s made great progress with toy manners and is responsive to positive training, especially when treats are involved (he’s very food motivated!). He’s also been doing well with supervised mealtimes and is steadily improving on his potty habits; he is sure to be fully house-trained in no time!
This sweet guy is generally quiet and easygoing. He rarely barks unless his buddies start it, and he’s calm and curious when meeting new people. Petro is tolerant of pets and touch, and even in the yard, he’s cool and collected as other dogs stroll by.
We’re not sure how he’d be with cats—his foster has kept their cat separated—but Petro hasn’t shown any concerning prey drive from a distance.
Petro Tunk is the kind of dog who makes people fall for him fast. He’s goofy, gentle, and incredibly lovable. He’s ready for a family who will adore him forever—and trust us, once you meet him, it’ll be hard not to.
