Spay and Neuter Services Package
The public spay and neuter program is operating under limited availability and is for Baltimore County residents/Baltimore County-owned cats and dogs only. Appointments are required. Surgical services are available at the following locations:

Rescue and foster groups are currently not eligible for this program.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE
In addition to the spay and neuter surgery, your pet package also includes the following services:
- Rabies vaccine, as required by law
- Other vaccines such as distemper and Bordetella (dogs only)
- Deworming
- A County animal license (applicable to Baltimore County residents only)
- Microchip
Your pet must qualify and have surgery through our program in order to receive these additional services. Pet owners may not opt out of individual services. Pets must receive all services as part of this package.
The total package cost is $20.
ABOUT YOUR SURGERY APPOINTMENT
Review the process for scheduling and attending your appointment below.
Please make sure you and your pet meet our eligibility requirements before submitting an appointment request. Our staff will review your request and if you or your pet don't meet our requirements, your application will not be accepted and we will call you to discuss.
RESTRICTIONS
Your dog should not:
- Be a boxer, bulldog (all breeds), pug or Shih Tzu (other short-faced and mixed breeds will be evaluated case by case at the discretion of the veterinarian)
- Have a known illness, injury or medical condition
- Be younger than four months or older than six years of age
- Weigh less than five pounds or more than 60 pounds if female, or more than 80 pounds if male
Your cat should not:
- Be hairless, Himalayan or Persian
- Have a known illness, injury or medical condition
- Be younger than five months or older than six years of age
- Weigh less than five pounds
PETS WITH INCREASED ANESTHETIC RISK
Pets may be declined for surgery if they present an increased risk for complications from anesthesia. Pre-existing conditions that would put your pet at increased anesthetic risk or may require a complicated surgery includes, but is not limited to:
- Feline leukemia
- Heart murmurs
- Kidney disease
- Seizure disorder
- Retained testicles
- Upper respiratory infections
Request your appointment by completing the online form below. This is an appointment request, not a guarantee. When your request has been accepted, you'll receive a confirmation email. If you haven't received a confirmation email, your pet’s appointment hasn't been confirmed. Payment is required at the time of scheduling.
Before paying, be sure to schedule your appointment first. Your appointment request will only be accepted if payment is also made at the time of the request. The email address used to make payment should be the same as the email used in the appointment request. Pay for your appointment now.
You will receive an email confirming your payment was processed.
Don't feed your pet any food or treats after midnight the night before surgery. Your pet may still drink water.
Arrive at the surgery location by 8 a.m. Staff will not admit clients into the building before 8 a.m. The owner of the pet needs to drop off the pet in order to sign the proper consent and provide a medical history.
- Your Pet—Bring your cat in a carrier (one cat per carrier) and your dog on a non-retractable leash.
- Medical Records—Bring any medical records and our veterinary staff will determine which vaccinations your pet can receive as part of our program. If you don’t have prior medical records for your pet, that’s okay. Your pet will receive a complete physical exam and the full Healthy Pet Package. Note: A complete rabies certificate is required for proof of prior vaccination and receipts or invoices are not considered proper verification of rabies vaccination.
All pets are discharged to their owners the same day as surgery. Exact pick up times will be assigned in the morning at drop-off but will not be before 3 p.m. If you're unable to pick up your pet from the surgical center at the specified time, he or she will be transferred to our main location in Baldwin. You will be required to redeem your pet from the shelter.

All services are by appointment only and walk-ins will not be accepted. Payment is required at time of scheduling. Pre-surgical documents are emailed prior to your appointment; a valid email address is required.

Good news! Your pet is eligible for a $20 procedure at either of our facilities. Credit card payment is required at time of scheduling. Select a location to book your appointment. Make sure to continue to the payment screen after you book.
Surgical services are not available for owned pets living outside Baltimore County. If you feel you have reached this message in error please email spayneuter@baltimorecountymd.gov.
