Trash Cart Pilot Program
Homes that currently receive a twice-per-week trash collection have been chosen to participate in phase two of the Trash Cart Pilot Program. These carts are a safer, more efficient and more environmentally-friendly way of handling trash. Using them will help to reduce rodent problems and litter in the community.
Carts will automatically be delivered to homes starting this September; residents do not need to be home to accept delivery. Postcards will be sent to affected homes in late September with details about the program. If a cart is delivered to your home, please use it to store your trash, placing it out for collection in your usual pick-up location. By doing so, you will be directly improving the health and safety of your neighborhood.
DETAILS
- The County is providing the trash carts at no cost to residents.
- Please put only household trash in the cart. Do not place recyclables, yard materials or hazardous waste in the cart.
- Your collector will continue to pick up your trash and recycling on the same days as usual. Be sure to set your material out after 6 p.m. the night before scheduled collection. Metal, glass, paper and plastic should continue to go in your recycling container!
- If you move, please leave the trash cart on your property; do not take it with you.
